The Welcome Center Südlicher Oberrhein represents a culture of warmth and hospitality in the Southern Upper Rhine region (in German Südlicher Oberrhein). With a diverse range of advisory services and events, we support regional companies in the process of recruiting, integrating and retaining qualified professionals from abroad.

We also extend our assistance to qualified professionals and students from abroad, addressing all their inquiries about working and living in our diverse region. Our mission is to facilitate a seamless professional entry for foreign nationals and help them feel at home in the beautiful Southern Upper Rhine region.

What is a Welcome Center?

There are twelve Welcome Centers in Baden-Württemberg, including the Welcome Center für Sozialwirtschaft that focuses on the social economy sector and operates throughout the whole federal state. All these centers offer guidance to small and medium-sized companies on how to find qualified professionals from abroad, help with immigration formalities and give tips on how to successfully integrate international employees into their teams and work processes. They also support qualified professionals and their families upon arrival in Germany and put them in touch with the relevant contact persons and authorities. In this way, the Welcome Centres strive to make an important contribution to the long-term procurement of qualified professionals in the region.

The Welcome Centre Südlicher Oberrhein is a joint project of the Industrie- und Handelskammer Südlicher Oberrhein (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) and the Handwerkskammer Freiburg (Chamber of Crafts) and is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg.
